In the quote referenced above, I tend to believe that Einstein was pointing to all of the great beings of our time. To name a few; Martin Luther King, Gandhi, and Nelson Mandela. They all have encountered some violent opposition caused by the ignorance (mediocre mind identification) of others. They were all falsely accused of crimes and put in jail for many different reasons.
The term “spirit” is often use in hockey and in the sport industry in general.
Let’s investigate and play with this powerful quote of Albert Einstein.
After giving this message some space, it came to me that we could use this quote towards one's own self. If the duality doesn't point at "others", but aims at our “own” experience of “Mind and Spirit” and spirit as being of your true nature, true self or whatever you want to call it. The one that you had as a child without all of these beliefs and conditions.
This "mediocre mind" which can actually be a great tool to the awareness of whom we naturally are, has desperately tried to guide us on our journey through ideologies, beliefs, concepts, dogma, suppositions, confusions, assumptions, presumptions, anticipations, and expectations. It simply becomes mediocre when it has been in charge for too long. This "mediocre mind" becomes a powerful tool when your consciousness is in the driver seat.
Now this great spirit within us simply trust and open up to allow discoveries, realizations or new understandings to emerge. It doesn't become superior or inferior like the mediocre mind does when we truly believe that we are this self-thinking mechanism. This spirit doesn't compare itself to others. It rides its own journey. It cares, but doesn't worry. That exact spirit in you works hard but effortlessly.
In sport, a great example of team spirit is having an egoless team! In theory, we cannot get rid of the ego completely. It will come down to the team which is least led by this mediocre voice. When the ego takes over, it divides a team out of mostly unconscious and tiny little fears disguised in jealousy, pride, envy, anger, hatred, comparison and, most importantly, unaware "beliefs" that will ultimately create divisions.
The spirit within you doesn't need to know all in advance. It doesn't resist painful circumstances but it flows in the direction which aligns our human experience and inspires us to create. The spirit in you simply brings light to what we resist without battling a negative mind. We don’t need to try to fight the negative to replace it with positive. The darkness simply dissolves naturally and effortlessly by detaching ourselves from it and observing which direction the light is shining. That light is your awareness. The recognition or realization of this light is what weakens the mediocre mind from leading the way.
On the other hand, when you align yourself with your true essence, there will also be opposition (other people) that will disregard, dislike, judge or will simply degrade you for what you are about. Fu&$*%G Awesome! They can come as teammates, coworkers or even friends going through this unconscious mediocre mind at work. No need to resent any of them.
This quote is here to remind you that this kind of bias is more likely to happen... which in fact means thatyou are on track. Shit like this will happen. People will doubt you. That is OK. (We just won't call it "shit" in case you implant an energy of resistance or judgement behind the word.)
We want to investigate this a bit more.
What is the cause for someone to go down to another one's level ofconsciousness? In most cases, it could simply be that we are not accepting whatever is happening at that moment, or that we are being misunderstood. Perhaps you would resist their ignorance or mediocre mind if our own consciousness understood this.
I would like to encourage you to remain confident on YOUR path. The path that is guided by your heart & spirit rather than the rational mind which is made up of other people's opinions, beliefs and perceptions. Try to remain open to reconsider these conditions so you can expand beyond the ideology of expansion.
You will come to realize that mistakes from the past will no longer exist as you will become one with this moment. There will be no looking back except to gain knowledge or to make peace with an event... so again, gain from this event and say thank you for what that experience has created.
Another additional wise thing that Mr. Einstein once said was that we can't solve a problem with the same level of consciousness that created it. Take the high road and tune in to this unshakable character that you are - even if it doesn't fit with the rational minds around you. Open up and give trust a chance so your intuition can be expressed, which will unfold the unimaginable for you.
Remember, those people who doubt you are still on your path for a reason and they can be use as beautiful messengers that you’re on track. Coincidence or bad luck is an illusion. When we believe in them, we become a victim of these circumstances.
Thank you for reading and let's keep opening up to expand into a blissful journey of unexpected events beyondwhat the mediocre mind would havebeen able to anticipate.
